TOFF was started by Carlie and Stephen in 2002 when Carlie retired from her job as Director of a London-wide charity giving older people a voice in areas of concern to them. During her time there she organised and led - assisted by Stephen - an annual visit to the European
Parliament in either Brussels or Strasbourg, together with sight seeing, wine or champagne tasting and excursions to places of interest en route. We try to keep costs down while ensuring that all rooms have private facilities and we are able to undertake visits in reasonable comfort!
We always have a good mix of people who make an effort to join in the group activities.
Literally by popular demand we have continued to organise our Eurotrip plus we are now "branching out" into other countries and areas of interest.
TOFF is a member organisation of the London Civic Forum. Carlie Newman remains actively involved in older people's issues and is currently working on a study of older women in the criminal justice system. She has a Visiting Research Fellowship at the London School of Economics.
TOFF is a non-profit making organisation. |
